The Office

"The power that made the body heals the body."
-from the Vital Link Chiropractic's white board

When you first walk into the Vital Link's office, you can't miss the white board and its most current words of inspiration. The quote changes every few days and are hand-picked by Dr. Matt Kriewall to inspire thought and encourage hope.

By reading them, your thinking becomes more positive and you also feel that here's a practice that truly cares about your well-being. This chiropractic office sets a tone of optimism before the treatment begins.

In addition to providing a healthy environment, we also have the equipment to deliver top-notch treatments. Here's a list of the state-of-the-art equipment that we use in the office.

Cold Laser

A Cold Laser, or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), is basically just a low-intensity laser system. The energy it produces can penetrate up to two inches below the skin in order to increase cellular metabolism with no tissue damage whatsoever.

There are four main effects of Cold Laser Therapy:

  • Wound Healing
  • Anti-inflammation
  • Antalgic (anti-pain)
  • Immunoregulation

The Cold Laser is great for reducing swelling after a sports injury. This often allows athletes to get back to their training regiment as soon as possible.

Less swelling also equals less pain!

The Cold Laser induces a better and stronger healing of a tendon rupture or tear. This occurs by allowing for the creation of more organized tissue as they heal in a strong crosshatched pattern.

Wobble Chair Exercises

The Wobble Chair looks like a funny little office chair that lost its back, but it is SO much more! With the right set of exercises, the Wobble Chair helps to re-hydrate and inflate the lumbar discs and keeps them young and strong.

The Wobble Chair also:

  • Assists in healing of disc bulges and tears.
  • Reduces stress in the low back and aids in recuperation and prevention of injuries.
  • Adds strength and flexibility to the mid and low back.
  • Helps circulate CFS (fluid that nourishes the brain and spinal cord).
  • Enhances oxygenation of blood and stimulates metabolism, which is necessary for the prevention of disease.
  • Warms up the body prior to the adjustment and prior to spinal molding at home to introduce motion and increased circulation to the joint of the spine on a daily basis.

Spinal immobility will leave you with the following issues:

  • The loss of motion decreases the flow of oxygen, glucose, sulfates to the discs. This will slow down or prevent healing.
  • The lack of motion increases lactate concentration which will change the pH of the local tissues and will increase pain.
  • Lack of motion also decreases the proteoglycan content of the disc. This will quickly give you a weaker disc and leave you venerable to more injury.

So Wobble!

Cervical Repetitive Traction

The Cervical Repetitive Traction does for the neck and upper back what the Wobble Chair does for the lower back. That is, it helps to re-hydrate the cervical disc's keeping your neck and upper back strong and supple.

The Cervical Repetitive Traction system also:

  • Reverses the effects of gravity and allows the disc to draw in fluid like a sponge.
  • Restores fluid to the disc to help restore normal function.
  • Reduces disc bulges
  • PTLMS (Pettibon Tendon Ligament Muscle Stimulator)

The PTLMS is a small hand held device that when used by a trained professional can help bring a variety of healing and pain relief!

    The PTLMS helps to:

    • Reduce muscle spasms
    • Flush the body of toxins
    • Disperse inflammation in the joints
    • Reduce scar tissue
    • Actually increase inflammation in scar tissue to bring it back to healthier, more elastic tissue

    Body Weighting System

The Body Weighting system looks like a mini treadmill but is actually stationary and helps strengthen muscles to support proper alignment.

    The Weighting System also:

    • Allows the nervous system and muscles to correct the spine and posture, as they react to the purposefully placed head, shoulder and hip weights.
    • Activates the body's righting reflexes, causing the patient's body to reposition into alignment easily.

    Whole Body Vibration Platform

The Vibration Platform is just like it sounds: a small vibrating platform that you stand on. It can treat a variety of conditions including:

    • Knee injuries
    • Acute back problems
    • Osteoporosis
    • Neuromuscular disorders

    It can also improve:

    • Strength and power for athletes
    • Postural stability

    Stability boards

These balance boards offer a wide range of benefits, including:

    • Improved ankle strength
    • Range of motion
    • Helps prevent injuries

The benefits of improved balance and coordination include:

    • Heightened Postural Awareness
    • Improved Kinesthetic Sense
    • Greater Stability
    • Enhanced Mobility
    • Body Awareness
    • Greater Confidence

    Spinal Decompression Bed

This computer-controlled bed slowly and gently works along your spine to apply healing negative pressure to drive nutrients to herniated or damaged discs.

    It also:

    • decompresses your spinal structures
    • is great for sciatica
